TO THE CITIZENS OF COLLIN COUNTY
I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Collin County District Clerk. For 23 years I have served in the District Clerk’s Office, the last 14 as Chief Deputy District Clerk. I have a BBA from the University of North Texas, and I have the skills, dedication and leadership that will maintain and improve the excellent service and competent management of this office that you have come to expect.
As Chief Deputy, I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of the District Clerk’s Office, working with sixty-six other employees. With a budget of over $4,600,000.00, the District Clerk
is responsible for every document that is filed in the nine District Courts in Collin County.
My primary job is to assure that the 18,200 cases filed in 2007 and the over 20,000 cases filed in 2008 are processed effectively and efficiently from the initial service of process through the appellate courts. By properly handling each case, your legal matter will be before the correct Court at the right time with all filed documents in the Court’s file and available for review.
The District Clerk’s Office is effectively managed and fiscally responsible. As the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” While our county continues to grow, so will the challenges faced by our office. This is not the time to change management on a whim.
Please join me in keeping experienced, competent leadership in the District Clerk’s Office.
I ask you for your vote and thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Patricia Wysong Crigger
